Parts of KNP closed for feral control program

From 4 April a large area of the northern zone of Kosciuszko National Park (see map) will be closed to the public for six months until 4 October for aerial shooting operations targeting feral animals.

The NSW government is required by law to reduce the number of feral horses in Kosciuszko to 3,000 by June 2027. Deer, pigs, and other feral animals are also being targeted.

Popular tourist spots including Yarrangobilly and the ski fields are unaffected by the closure.

Visitors should always check NSW National Parks and Wildlife website alerts before planning to visit any park.
