The ACT Government with support from Commonwealth Disaster Resilience Funding is investing in upgrading several popular walking trails this year. Further works are also planned for 2025.
Stage one of this work will start the week beginning 25 March and will continue throughout Autumn 2024. See list of areas below where trail work will be undertaken.
The work includes improvements to surface materials, installation and repair of steps and improved drainage features. Some trails will be realigned. The upgrades do not include signage at this stage.
In Spring 2023, 58% of people experiencing ACT Parks, Reserves and Forests participated in walking or hiking activities and 19% participated in cycling activities.
