Three-toed Skink

Three-toed Skink - Photography by Kevin McCue

This shiny short-limbed skink and several relatives were found in a suburban Canberra garden. It was distinctive from other skinks in the garden by its snake-like movements necessitated by its long body and tiny legs. Reference: Reptiles & Frogs of the ACT by Ross Bennett, an NPA ACT fieldguide.
