Tree Dragon or Jacky Lizard (Amphibolurus muricatus)

Tree Dragon or Jacky Lizard (Amphibolurus muricatus) - Photography by Kevin McCue

This individual was sunning itself on a boulder in the Yankee Hat carpark, Namadgi National Park. According to the NPA's fieldguide to the Reptiles and Frogs of the ACT this dragon may grow to 400mm but this one was probably only half that size. The female may lay up to 12 eggs.
