483 Fan-tailed Cuckoo - Photography by Kevin McCue

The voice is a repetitious, mournful, descending trill that you may hear in the Australian National Botanic Gardens. Even at a considerable distance, the barred tail helps identify the species. This was one of a pair that put on a display down in Namadgi National Park. The eye-ring is rather conspicuous.
