Common Bearded Dragon (Pogona barbata)

Common Bearded Dragon (Pogona barbata) - Photography by Keith Pantlin

Only six of the 60 known dragon lizards occurring in Australia can be found in the ACT. This lizard may grow to 0.5m, lays up to 30 eggs in an underground tunnel and eats insects, fruit and plant material. The colour darkens as it matures.
