Pack walk - Rolling Ground and Tate ridges

Rolling Ground and Tate ridges

A three-day pack walk in Kosciuszko NP. Starting from Guthega, head up the Guthega Ridge to camp near the Granite Peaks on the Rolling Ground. Day 2 begins with a morning side trip to Dicky Cooper Bogong. After lunch, cross Consett Stephen Pass and walk out onto Tate West Ridge to set up camp for the second night. There is the option to explore the upper part of this broad open ridge. On the final day we walk back and up the ridge to Mt Tate, then continuing southward down Tate East Ridge to wade across the swiftly flowing Pounds Creek. Cross the Snowy River on the suspension bridge and then follow the Illawong track back to Guthega. Around 40km with a total ascent of 1400m.
