Walks Program - Outings
To inquire about our program of bushwalks, work parties, outings and other activities by email please go to our contacts page for our outings coordinator. Guidelines for participants are here.Emergencies In the event that an outings party is overdue, family or friends should not contact the National Parks service or the Police but, rather, the NPA Check-In Officer as the first point of contact: Mike Bremers 0428 923 408, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., or Brian Slee 6281 0719, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Leaders should contact the Check-In Officer (text or email will suffice) as soon as practicable after completion of any outing in a remote location or one where telecommunications were unavailable. The original ATTENDANCE RECORD AND RISK WAIVER FORM should be sent to Brian Slee or emailed as above.COVID-19 Arrangements
The following information sets out the current arrangements for outings in the NPA ACT walks program under ACT government restrictions on community activities aimed at reducing the risk of transmission of the COVID-19 virus.
Walkers wishing to participate need to contact the leader to register, providing their name and a contact phone number. Walk descriptions will not contain a meeting place or time with this information being made available by the leader at the time of registration.
Walkers are advised that they should not register with the leader (or attend the walk) if they have or have had flu like symptoms such as a fever with a cough, sore throat or shortness of breath. For further information see the ACT Government COVID-19 website.
Walkers will need to arrange their own transport prior to the walk as the walk leader will not be facilitating ride sharing because of social distancing and hygiene requirements.
Walkers are reminded that social distancing requirements will be in force on the walk and they are expected to practice good hygiene.
A non-contact sign-in will be implemented. The walk leader will ask walkers for verbal confirmation when the group meets that they have read and understand the Risk and Liability Waiver information provided on the NPA ACT Attendance and Risk Waiver form and are happy to comply with the additional social distancing and hygiene requirements.
