After nearly 30 years as a separate incorporated organisation, the Gudgenby Bush Regeneration Group (GBRG) - now known as the Gudgenby Bushies - has formally become part of NPA ACT.
In November 2025, GBRG members voted for the group’s voluntary cancellation as an incorporated association and to become part of NPA ACT.
GBRG’s original focus was on rehabilitating land formerly occupied by the Boboyan pine plantation in Namadgi National Park but has extended to include rehabilitation activities across the wider Gudgenby valley.

The Gudgenby Bushies are still hard at it, with their most recent work party continuing in association with ANU Intrepid Landcare volunteers (@anuintrepidlandcare) joining forces to remove briars and hawthorns near Gudgenby Homestead.
You can read more about the history of the group in Gudgenby Bush Regeneration Group – the first 20 years by Canberra historian, Matthew Higgins, and Removal and revegetation of the Boboyan Pine Plantation, Gudgenby by Hazel Rath.
