A health check of Kosciuzsko National Park has found the park remains a refuge for many of Australia’s most threatened species.
The detailed health assessment of the park was carried out by the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS).
NPWS applied an EcoHealth Scorecard to record half a million animal images, nearly 4000 plant records and 1225 bird records using data from 100 permanent monitoring sites equipped with state-of-the-art cameras and acoustic devices.
The health check revealed both positive and concerning insights into KNP’s health and long-term viability.
