A unique project is attempting to reintroduce Green and Gold Bell Frogs to the ACT.
The frogs have been locally extinct for 50 years, victims of the deadly Chytrid fungus, which has decimated more than 500 frog species globally.
ABC News reports that scientists from the University of Canberra are using man-made ‘spas’ and ‘saunas’ to reintroduce the frogs to an ecosystem they used to live in.
They plan to reintroduce more than 400 of the threatened species at 15 sites across the ACT.
