2023 ACT State of Environment report tabled

The 2023 ACT State of the Environment Report was tabled in the ACT Legislative Assembly on the 21 March 2024 by Environment Minister Rebecca Vassarotti.

The report contains environmental assessments, makes formal recommendations and provides key actions to assist with ongoing management. Data gaps and policy challenges are also outlined.

The report includes discussions on valuing Ngunnawal knowledge, community leadership in environmental management and advocacy, Black Summer’s impacts on the ACT, Canberra’s urban boundary, and opportunities to transition to a circular economy.

The ACT Government is required to formally respond to the report’s recommendations within 6 months of tabling.
