New koala plan for ACT

A new plan to protect and revive koala (gula) populations in the ACT has been released by the ACT Government.

The Native Species Conservation Plan for the Gula (Koala) is a collaborative initiative between the Ngunnawal community and the government. The koala was listed as endangered in the ACT in early 2023.

While there are no known wild populations of koalas in the ACT, the government continues to search for them in our reserves and hopes that one day they may return to the wild in the territory.
